A MIND FOREVER VOYAGING THROUGH STRANGE SEAS OF THOUGHT, ALONE

This is my second blog.

My first blog chronicled my experiences over three years caring for my dad as he lived through and finally died from Alzheimer's. That is the book that is for sale.

This second blog kind of chronicles of life, what it is like to start your life over in your late 50's. After caretaking, you are damaged, file bankruptcy, and the world doesn't care what you did. After 8 months of unemployment, you wake each day knowing the world doesn't want you. Finally you do find a job, 5 weeks before homelessness, but doing what you did 30 years ago and getting paid what you did 30 years ago. So this is starting over.

The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane.

DRIVING LESSONS

Back around the late 70's and early 80's, a great migration took place in this country.  Millions of people, mostly young college grads, who grew up in the Rust Belt of America discovered there were no jobs left in the Rust Belt.  But places like Atlanta, Florida, Dallas, Houston, Denver, and AZ were booming.

I remember the Sunday Chicago Tribune had one section of want ads, jobs pages were buried in there somewhere.  But the Dallas Morning News had four sections of the Sunday paper with just job ads.  So millions of people packed it up and moved.

One thing I've noticed in life is the rhythm of things.  Cities have their own rhythm, especially when it comes to driving.  New York is different from Boston which is different from Chicago which is different from LA which is different from San Fran which is different from Dallas which is different from Houston.  And what happens when you have a city like Dallas and suddenly throw 200,000 new drivers into the traffic from all those other cities is you get a chaotic rhythmless mess.  Eventually, after years, if no new people are added, a new rhythm will form in that city.

I suppose that is a good metaphor for what is happening to this country and what has been going on for the last 30 years or so.  We had a rhythm and that rhythm has been destroyed by massive immigration from south of the border, the middle east, europe, and asia.

As a child, I knew families where the parents had immigrated to the US.  They worked very hard and more importantly worked very hard to make sure their kids fit into the American Dream.  They made sure they joined Scouting, they played little league, mostly very badly, and they spoke English and the parents made sure they spoke english.

We don't see that today, do we.  We see segregation, chosen by those people, with no effort to fit into America but fighting to make America change to align with them.  Sure, in those days early in the 20th century, neighborhoods were Italian, Polish, Irish, Mexican, and whoa to those kids who crossed the street; but within those neighborhoods there was effort to make sure the kids would grow up Americans.

What we see today is a school system that accommodates, forcing all students to embrace Mexican history, Arab history.  We have schools flying the flag of Mexico, schools making students say Islamic prayers.

When will we get a leader that says 'enough!'?

Did you see the story recently that showed in the last eight years we've added 51 million immigrants to this country?  Legal and illegal?  Or I wrote recently about the massive high tech layoffs taking place with the jobs immediately filled with immigrants from foreign countries, which is a direct violation of the law?

Here is what illegal immigration does to America.  One - it allows businesses to fill positions that use to be filled by Americans, for a lot less than the business would have to pay for an American, legally.  And I'm sorry, other than maybe picking lettuce, these are jobs Americans would be happy to do.  Secondly, it drives down wages across the field.  It drives down the wages of not only blue collar labor, but it drives down the white collar jobs too.  Thirdly, how much do Americans spend in taxes to pay for the housing, food, medical care, and crime committed by illegal aliens each year?

We've spent eight years with Numb Nuts providing not just an open border but a damn welcome mat for people to illegally come into this country at the southern border.  We KNOW we have middle eastern men coming into America across the border, we provide tickets from thousands coming now from central america and then whisk them off by bus, plane, and train to places all around the country to flood into the school systems, hospitals, etc.

When will we get a leader that says 'enough!'?

Of course, if there are any readers left around here, some will now be screaming I'm racist or a bigot or whatever other adjectives they can find in their little red book of liberal adjectives to scream at people.

And fixing this will not be easy.

So what do we do with a mom and dad that snuck into this country 20 years ago and now have 3 kids? What if they snuck one of those kids with them and had the other two here?  Do we send the whole family back when two of the kids are US Citizens or can the kids stay but not the parents and the oldest kid?  Or can the parents stay until the kids all reach 18 and then get sent back to their homeland?

Well, let me ask you this.  Let's say you've lived in your house for 10 years and when you moved in you got Comast cable.  Now you find out your neighbor, seven years ago, tapped into your cable and has been getting free cable off you for the last seven years.  And they neighbor insists that since he's gotten free cable from you for seven years, you should keep providing him free cable.

And you say, "WTF?"

Well, we have to take the same approach with illegal aliens.  Congratulations, you lived here illegally for the last 20 years, good for you, now sell what you want, take what you've saved, and go home.  Just because you get away with breaking the law for 20 years doesn't mean you should get to keep breaking the law.

Has for the middle east, time to go home.  Student visas from the middle east need to end.  University's will scream - they get top dollar from the rich middle easterners - which allows them to charge more and more for tuition which is why college education has increased in price more than any other segment of our market the past 20 years.  Yes, even more than health care.  Like twice as much as health care.

Catch them, take them to the airport, put them on a plane, and send them home with the warning if you are found in America again, you get jail for a year, then another ticket home.

Remember that movie a few years ago with Willis and Denzel?  Where they made Willis the bad guy and Denzel the hero?  Anyone else watch that movie and think maybe Willis was right?

See, very soon, maybe this year, we are going to have another 9/11 - won't be the same - but another major terrorist hit or series of hits across this country and thousands will die.  And if Obama is still president when it happens, well, if it's this year or next I guess he will be, you can bet there will be a major crackdown on American citizens.

It's like a not so funny variation of the old Groucho joke where he plays a teacher and when a student acts up he says "just for that", then points to a pretty female student "you will have to stay after school"
And the girl cries "why me?" and Groucho just gives one of those smiles with the eyebrows raising up and down.

Except this won't be funny.  Islamic terrorist will attacks schools or churches or nuke plants and cause all sort of harm and Obama will have the army knocking on Average Joe's door confiscating his guns.  That will not be funny.

Then again, maybe nothing will happen on the terrorist front for a couple of years, they will wait till Numb Nuts retires to Hawaii - did you see he bought the estate where Magnum PI was filmed - well he didn't it was bought thru a series of corporation things to hide who actually bought them the home -  and then the terrorists will hit in the first year of the next president.

I don't know, maybe I'm just getting old.  So much today, I just feel like I'm sitting on a hill watching a train headed towards a washed out bridge and there is nothing to do but just sit back and watch it happen.  No one is going to do anything about illegal immigration.  No one is going to step in and prosecute the companies using the foreign waiver job thing illegally.  No one is going to have the courage to stand up to the Islamic invasion of the US.

Go to church, hear a sermon.  No mention of the slaughtering of Christians in the middle east by Isis.  But we are having a Salsa making contest tomorrow.  Think I will skip it; salsa looks too much like the blood in the ocean after they behead that last group of Christians.

I don't know what they have to say,
It makes no difference anyway,
Whatever it is, I'm against it.
No matter what it is or who commenced it,
I'm against it.

Your proposition may be good,
But let's have one thing understood,
Whatever it is, I'm against it.
And even when you've changed it or condensed it,
I'm against it.

I'm opposed to it,
On general principle, I'm opposed to it.

[chorus] He's opposed to it.
In fact, indeed, that he's opposed to it!

[Groucho]
For months before my son was born,
I used to yell from night to morn,
Whatever it is, I'm against it.
And I've kept yelling since I first commenced it,
I'm against it!
